Cop 17 Roof Top Garden Visit

Eden  pupils have been busy this week visiting the COP 17 roof top garden in Durban.  What an amazing experience - pupils and teachers alike were blown away!  On top of a building in the CBD of Durban is a fully functioning roof top garden, all ECO friendly.  Rain water is captured in water tanks, plants are grown in used tyres and metal drums, plants are nourished with worm "tea" and sprayed with a home made organic spray made from chillies, onions and green soap.  The vegetables are used to feed the needy and also sold to raise funds and supplement the cafe downstairs.  This venue is definitely a MUST for all visitors to Durban and for local residents alike.

Wow look at the "roof" brinjals!

The mealies are nearly as tall as me!

Lots and lots of information board to read!
